Load shedding temporarily ended: PEPCO

Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) announced that the ongoing power load shedding in the country for domestic consumers has been terminated, as the demand and supply of electricity equaled, reported SAMAA today (Tuesday).

According to Pepco spokesman, due to torrential rains in Province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit -Baltistan and Punjab, demand of electricity have lessen to 12, 717 MW , thus difference between demand and supply of electricity ended. Due to zero shortfalls PEPCO had exempted the domestic consumers from load shedding.

Hydro electric power produces 4,960 MW, electricity produce by IPP’s is 5,195MW, from thermal power houses it is 2,443 MW and from power rental houses it is 119 MW.

460 MegaWatt has been supplied to Karachi.
